Professional Development program for East Orange, NJ, teachers

A group of teachers from the East Orange (NJ) schools were introduced to the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts during their day of professional development for performing and visual arts teachers at Lincoln Center Education.   As part of their program (and our longstanding cooperation with LCE), they visited LPA and the Sesame Street exhibition.  

 

The art and theater teachers started in the Oenslager gallery looking at the Muppets and their character designs while the dance and music teachers received an orientation tour of LPA.  They later switched, so that all of the teachers viewed the collections and the exhibitions.  They were introduced to the electronic resources and digial collections available to classroom teachers on www.nypl.org.
