Statement Arts College Prep student visit

The current students in the College Prep program of Statement Arts visit The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.  The program -- part of our 5th annual collaboration -- introduces the students to the archival and circulating collections in theater, dance and music.  Their summer projects include both preparation for auditions (by learning how to find scripts and songs) and writing their own monologues and songs, so we stressed process.   We included an in-depth look at Music for Moderns, which includes lyric sheets, scores and music ndustry correspondence.  Students who did not have NYPL cards were able to register during the visit.
