Biography (note)

1. The Community News Service was established in 1969 as a Harlem-based organization of minority journalists, providing news about black and Hispanic communities in New York City to the media. The service sent reports several times weekly to more than thirty subscribers including "The New York Times," "The Daily News," "The Amsterdam News," CBS-TV, CBS Radio, WNBC-TV, and WLIB Radio. Other subscribers included community groups.
