On each of leaves [3-31] appears a design composed of the number (i.e. digit(s)) and the quantity of a given letter (in various sizes and typefaces) required to make up 2 kg. or ca. half of a 10 point font of type ("Korpus"), according to German usage. Each design appears on the segment of the leaf corresponding to the position of the relevant compartment in the compositor's case.
