- Local note
- The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's volume 2 (accession no A880640) is probably a post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the collection. It includes an NYPL 1940 bookplate of: "The Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History." but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp or/and any other stamps or processing markings of the Schomburg Collection; imperfect: treated; part of the text on pages 583 & 584 may be lacking; rebounded in black cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine.
- The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's volume 8 no. 2 (accession no G229366) is a gift; probably added to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian and Lawrence Reddick was the Curator. It includes an NYPL 1940 bookplate of: "The Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History." but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp or/and any other stamps or processing markings of the Schomburg Collection; imperfect: treated; trimmed off margins, rebounded in black cloth over boards library binding with additional blank pages at the back, and gilt spine.
- Copy in *DM (Revue des colonies), v. 1 has an NYPL "Sydney Howard Gay Collection" bookplate; and the "New York Public Library: Asor, Lenox and Tilden foundation" stamps with and without the accession # printed in the middle, as well as the NYPL perforated stamp on the title page. Library binding in brown cloth over boards and gilt spine. Binding date stamp: July 17, 1925.
- Volume 2 in *DM (Revue des colonies) is probably part of volume 1. It has all stamped found on volume 1; however, it does not include a bookplate or accession #. Volume 2 has an additional "Astor Library" raised seal stamps. Library binding is also in brown cloth over boards and a gilt spine. Binding date stamp: July 17, 1925.
