- The tape begins with a recording from Matteo's class at the School of Performing Arts, New York. Matteo discusses his innovations in the teaching of East Indian dance in order to render it more easily comprehensible to Westerners; the basic stance of the four main styles of dance in India; the rhythms for the Bharata Natyam style; the Indian system of studying classical dance with a guru.
