- Summary: A real time documentation of performances of Mgodo by musicians and dancers of the Chopi tribe. A Mgodo, meaning "whole show," features a large orchestra of xylophones (timbila) and a group of dancers. After several orchestral introductions, the dance leader and dancers enter carrying shields and dance stick, spear or axe. They perform a dance in 10 movements, with shouts and songs, the verses of which are highly topical and are related to local customs, history, and personages.
