Linder pinx., G. Barry lith., imp. Lemercier & Cie.
The open-air dance hall Bal Bullier, on Boulevard de l'Observatoire in Paris: a gas-lit garden with a series of wooden archways carved in a Moorish style. The print suggests working-class people watching an impromptu performance of a quadrille naturaliste or cancan: two women in a vigorous dance, while one man leaps in the air, his feet tucked beneath him, and another man balances on his hands, kicking up his heels.
