Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Guests are Alma Law, a theatrical historian and producer; sound designer Phil Lee; and lighting designer Beverly Emmons. They describe their functions in their respective fields, and recall their experiences with different choreographers; Emmons contrasts the different lighting requirements of Merce Cunningham and Alvin Ailey, and Lee talks about his collaborations with Ping Chong and Marleen Pennison. An excerpt is shown from Nikolai Foregger's Machine dance #4, which Law produced as part of a series of Constructivist performances at The Kitchen, New York. Lee's work is represented by an excerpt from Ping Chong's A.M./A.M. In Esoterica balletica, David Rosenberg, production manager of the Feld Ballet, suggests some ways of dealing with the less glamorous problems of touring.
