Summary
  1. Gloria Rosenthal, an authority on the gypsy robe, discusses this theatrical tradition with Bill Bradley, its originator, and Sammy Williams, who describes the passing of the robe to Donna McKechnie in A chorus line. Williams, one of the dancers whose stories inspired A chorus line, reminisces about his experiences in the show. Bradley, a stager and choreographer for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, describes his work, which is seen in a recorded excerpt at the end of the program. Discussing the individuals who influenced them most, Bradley notes the contributions of Jerome Robbins, Williams of Michael Bennett. The guests also discuss auditioning. In Esoterica balletica, historian Helen Marie Guditis pays tribute to the Broadway theater.
