Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Charles Weidman's comic gifts as performer and choreographer are remembered by three dancer/choreographers who worked with him: Lee Sherman, Bill Cratty, and Deborah Carr. Looking back upon their own choreography, they recall what he taught them about comic timing, characterization, and distillation of essential themes. They also discuss his and Doris Humphrey's approaches towards literary themes, and present-day reconstructions of his works. His works Flickers and Lynchtown are seen in recorded excerpts, as well as Cratty's The kitchen table and Le bourgeois gentilhomme. In Esoterica balletica, James Sewell of the Feld Ballet discusses and demonstrates movements from Irina Nijinska's restaging of Les noces, choreographed by her mother Bronislava.
