Dancers/choreographers Simone Forti, Nina Martin, and Sally Silvers talk about various aspects of their improvisational work, including the place of improvisational dance in the theatrical community and in dance education, their use of structured improvisation, and their working methods. They note the need for thought and inner motivation in improvisation, and compare improvisation and set choreography from the performer's and the audience's points of view. Forti discusses what constitutes body intelligence, and describes her News animations, in which she comments on current events. Performance excerpts include Martin's Modern daze and Blue sail fish (b&w), Silvers's Tizzy boost and Likely suite, and Forti's Green mountain and News animations, as well as an unidentified work by the improvisational collective Channel Z.
