Summary
  1. Two group works by Jean Erdman, introduced by her. She is seen in excerpts from a lecture-demonstration and in studio rehearsals with her company. Among the topics she discusses are the goals and formulation of her dance technique, the performances of Donald McKayle and Merce Cunningham in the 1950 premiere of Solstice, and the influence of her husband Joseph Campbell. The dances are preceded by b&w footage or still photographs of Erdman and her early company.
