Summary

1. Etched illustrations accompanying etched text and title page. Most illustrations are reproductions of works of art by Franciso Goya, Charles Lapostolet, Jules Jacques Veyrassat & others. Some works were exhibited in the Salon of 1876. Subjects include the mythological figure Ixion, the steamship Labrador & views of a flood and of the Sainte-Chapelle & the Avenue de l'Opéra in Paris. One print depicts the ruins of the Tuileries Palace following the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. Others depict the house of Frédéric Lemaître and a monument to Pierre Corneille. Some prints are present in more than one state.
