  2. Gene Saks talks about the first play he directed, Joseph Stein's Enter laughing, some of the many other comedies he has directed including six by Neil Simon, his association with Simon, his approach to directing, and the importance of casting.

Christopher Durang discusses how he identifies with and writes dark comedies, how he came to write The history of American film and The actor's nightmare, his play Sister Mary Ignatius explains it all for you, problems involved with censorship and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the merging of laughter with violence and unhappiness.

Jerry Zaks talks about how he got playwright Christopher Durang to agree to his directing Sister Mary Ignatius explains it all to you at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, how he looks for farce that is extreme but grounded in reality, how he directs, visualizes, and choreographs farce, and the revival of the musical Anything goes.
  5. Producer Emanuel Azenberg discusses his association with playwright Tom Stoppard and in particular, the play The real thing, how some Stoppard plays may be altered for American audiences, his relationship with playwright Neil Simon, his role mounting a play with Simon, producing 14 plays by Simon, and the inability of Broadway theater to compete with the salaries paid in Hollywood.
