Summary
Video transfer of an 8mm film made by Jack V. Gould, a Toronto dress manufacturer, amateur filmmaker, and Dunham fan. In this film he poses as a journalist in order to obtain an introduction to Dunham, attends her Tropical Revue show (produced by Hurok in the early 40s), and visits her with his wife in her [dressing?] room after the performance. The opening of the film shows a poster for the Tropical Revue and views of Dunham on the street. The footage of the Tropical Revue show includes very brief excerpts, focusing on Dunham ; among the numbers depicted are Rara tonga and Barrelhouse. In the last segment, Dunham (wearing street clothes) demonstrates a few dance steps, opens a present, and displays her legs.
