Report on a tribute to the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and its former principal dancer Frederic Franklin, held in Cincinnati, Ohio, in October 2002. The festivities included the Cincinnati Art Museum's exhibition The golden age of costume and set design for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, 1938-1944, and the Cincinnati Ballet's revivals of George Balanchine's Night shadow, excerpts from Frederick Ashton's Devil's holiday, the waltz from Leonide Massine's Gaité parisienne, and Franklin's staging of the third movement of Massine's Seventh symphony.
