- Interview with Alvin Ailey, who discusses the universal impulse to dance; the popularity of street dancing, and its use by choreographers; making dance more accessible to the general public; dance as a universal language; the dancer's training and daily routine; the rise of the male dancer; the contrast of modern dance and ballet; dancing and self-esteem; the dancer and aging.
