The internationally broadcast concert, planned for September 10, 1988 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, is being sponsored by the entertainment industry. Its goal to eradicate apartheid in South Africa. Includes excerpts from a press conference featuring Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bishop H. Brookins, Cicely Tyson, Patty Duke, Judith Light, Billy Dee Williams, Hugh Masekela, Joseph Papp and James Mtume who discuss their reasons for supporting the event. Also includes interview excerpts with South African youth and footage of the country's current conditions.
