Summary
  1. Part of The Studies Project, an ongoing series of discussions, performances, and other presentations. Following a performance of their works, three Japanese-born female choreographers, Yoshiko Chuma, Kei Takei, and Kumiko Kimoto [Koosil-ja Hwang, born of Korean parents], discuss their activities in Japan prior to their move to New York City, which each made at a different time. They discuss the reasons that brought them to the U.S., and their adjustment to American life and culture, then talk about the individuals and cultural forces that helped shape their individual styles, and the state of the arts in Japan and the U.S.
