Summary
  1. Panel discussion which looks at the playwright's social and political impact in the modern world. The role of theater in engendering social change is examined, in such diverse areas as gender (e.g. gay bashing, gays in the military, etc.), women's issues, race (ethnic stereotyping) and other political topics. Various literary techniques for handling political and social themes in a play are explored, such as absurdism and other approaches outside the realm of realism.
