Summary
  1. This program features a performance of David Parsons' work in progress Ring around the rosie, followed by a panel discussion of the ballet. Panelists discuss the children's song that gives the dance its name and derives from its subject, the Black Death or plague outbreaks of the 14th and 17th centuries, and contemporary parallels to the AIDS epidemic. They also discuss the creation of the music, which uses Renaissance instruments, and the set design's basis in Bosch, Brueghel, and illuminated manuscripts.
