- Description
- 1 film reel (22 min.) : sd. col.; 16 mm.
- Summary
- Documents the commercial exploitation of children by television broadcasters and advertisers. Excerpts from children's programming and commercials provide a sampling of what is wrong with children's television: slick, deceptive commercials for sugary foods and expensive toys, derogatory racial, ethnic, age and sex stereotyping, and warped representations of male/female relationships. Interviews with schoolchildren reveal television's disturbing effects. Parents discuss their frustrations and successes in coping with their children's viewing habits.
