Description
  1. 1 videocassette (120 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
Summary
  1. 1) Stanely Krippner - Psychic and spiritual healing. Psychologist Stanley Krippner, director of the Center for Consciousness Studies at the Saybrook Institute, discusses his experiences with native shamans and healers in the Americas and Asia and reveals how their practices can be incorporated into modern psychology and medicine. 2) Patricia Sun - Communication as healing. Patricia Sun, a spiritual teacher, asserts that all healing comes from a non-verbal "knowingness" within. Sun explores the nature of the healing process and demonstrates her use of sound as a method of focusing her own healing consciousness. 3) Jill Purce - Sound and healing. Jill Purce, the author of The Mystical spiral, discusses the role of sound in traditional cultures as a means of harmonizing and healing the human body and promoting harmony between people. Purce points out that the voice is where breath or spirit and the physical world come together. 4) Brendan O'Regan - The Inner mechanisms of healing. Brendan O'Regan, vice-president of research for the Institute of Noetic Sciences, discusses breakthroughs in the field of neuro-immunology which suggest that the human nervous system and immune system are closely linked. He notes the shift in emphasis in healing research from documenting the role of the mind to searching for an understanding of how and why healing occurs.
