- Summary
- The Harlem Syndicate was formed in the late 19th century with the object of building and operating inland wharves and basins on the Harlem River. The Syndicate held that the land did not belong to the City of New York, but to the descendants of the original settlers of New Haarlem. The papers consist of letters from Henry C. Kooken and others mainly to Abner and Oscar De Graff relative to the recovery of rights, or payment of damages in connection with the common lands of the town of Harlem, New York.
