Summary
  1. Consists of 11 bifolia: 2 bifolia containing half title, title page and preface by Marcel Jean; 8 bifolia containing the illustrations, numbered in blind 1-8 on first recto; and bifolium containing postscript and colophon.
  2. Illustrations are on rectos of the numbered bifolia, with captions on the otherwise blank facing pages. Comprise 16 full-page reproductions of monotypes executed in decalcomania and pochoir by Domínguez and Jean in collaboration; created in 1936 for a work to be published by GLM in 1937 with a preface by André Breton. A prospectus was issued, but publication was canceled; the preface was never written.
  3. Blank bifolia at beginning and end, not counted in collation. All but the 5 copies reserved for the author and publisher are accompanied by 1 or 2 original monotypes, not counted in collation.
