Cet album, à la fois une enquête policière et un documentaire sur l'Algérie et ses rapports avec la France, un mélange de l'Algérie d'hier et celle d'aujourd'hui, de le documentaire et la fiction, examine le problème des gens ayant vu leur famille séparée pour des raisons idéologiques et religieuses. Une femme, Nadine, supplie le détective privé Nadir Oualou, français d'origine algérienne, d'aller rechercher en Algérie sa fille dont elle est séparée depuis trop longtemps. C'est lors d'un voyage en 1991 dans ce pays qu'elle a été contrainte par son mari algérien -- depuis que celui-ci a succombé aux sirènes des mouvements terroristes du F.I.S., le Front Islamique du Salut -- d'y laisser sa fille.
2. This book, both a police investigation and a documentary about Algeria and its relations with France, a mixture of the Algeria of yesterday and today, of documentary and fiction, examines the problem of people having seen their families separated for religious and ideological reasons. A woman, Nadine, begs the detective Oualou Nadir, French of Algerian origin, to go to Algeria to find her daughter from whom she has been separated for too long. During a trip to Algeria in 1991, Nadine was forced by her Algerian husband -- who had succumbed to the lure of the terrorist movements of the FIS and the Islamic Front Hi -- to leave the country without her daughter.
