Summary

1. This book proposes an important contribution to political studies in Ecuador in the field of political culture. From political culture as an analytical category of social practices, the author aims to explain and understand the structures of meaning that underlie the political behavior of a university student youth. While noting that political behavior is socially structured and expresses social relations of power, the author considers that political analysis will always be incomplete if one ignores the cultural factors and systems of values ​​and beliefs that are interposed between the perception of political phenomena and the consequent behaviors with political content.
