In 2007, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra under Chief Conductor Sebastian Lang-Lessing embarked on a project to record all five of Mendelssohn's symphonies for ABC Classics. Two years later the ambitious cycle concluded with the recording of Mendelssohn's Symphony no. 3 Scottish, followed by a presentation and performance of the work before an invited audience. The DVD captures that event and the recording sessions leading up to the presentation.
