Cuomo banned all assemblies of 500 or more people, which included the immediate shutdown of all Broadway shows. Roundabout Theatre Company's production of A SOLDIER'S PLAY was slated to be videorecorded the following night. As scheduled, the cast and company performed one final time for this taping, with no audience, aside from a few friends of the production, so that the show could be included in the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive and theatre history." --Introductory text, opening credits.
