Summary
  1. Depictions of African Americans and persons of African descent participating in rallies, marches and processions, mainly in New York City during 1998 to 2000, consisting of views of the third Million Youth March, in Harlem (2000); the Wheeler Avenue (Bronx) and Wall Street rallies for police shooting victim Amadou Diallo (1999); Diallo's funeral procession (1999); and children in a memorial march for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on 59th Street (1998). Also included is a group portrait of activists Rev. Herbert Daugherty and Rev. Al Sharpton, and actor Danny Glover, at a rally supporting a national moratorium on the death penalty, in Washington, D.C. (2000). Also depicted are Khalid Abdul Muhammad, leader of the new Black Panther Party and Moses Powell of the African Nationalist Pioneer Movement.
