Depictions of dance studio rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and dance and musical productions featuring Black dancers and actors from the mid-1950s to 1980, consisting of candid shots and views of dancers, actors, choreographers, and composers either in rehearsal studios or during stage performances. Most performances and rehearsals, which were probably held in New York City, are unidentified. Among the individuals depicted are actress Claudia McNeil; singer, dancer and actor Sammy Davis, Jr.; and dancers Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty, Carmen De Lavallade, Syvilla Fort and Geoffrey Holder.
