- "This volume brings together over 30 beautiful works on paper by anonymous artists from Rajasthan, collected by the French poet Franck Andŕe Jamme. Intended to serve as meditation aids for followers of the Tantric School of Hinduism, they are based on illustrations first known to have appeared in 17th century religious treatises that were copied generation from generation, the images eventually becoming independent of the texts. Painted in gouache, watercolor, and tempera on paper, they reflect the highly symbolic world view of Hindu Tantrism, using color to help the viewer achieve a heightened state of enlightment ...
