- Regional funds for contemporary art (Fonds régional d'art contemporain (or FRAC) was part of France's decentralized arts policy in the early 1980s. The initial plan was to build up a public heritage of contemporary art in each region by acquiring works from cutting-edge artists and ensuring their visibility to as wide a population as possible by reaching out to regional audiences.
