Note
  1. In early 2001, San Francisco Public Library staff began finding vandalized books shoved under shelves, hidden throughout the Main Library. Ultimately over 600 torn and sliced books, on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender topics, women's issues and HIV/AIDS, were deemed beyond repair and withdrawn from the Library's collection. Rather than discard the damaged books, the Library distributed them to interested community members in the hope of creating art. This is an exhibition organized by Mary Bennett of works by 44 New Mexico artists creating art from 44 of the vandalized books.
  2. Catalog to celebrate the opening of Gay Pride month in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with a Pride in the Arts theme, to run June 4-July 5, 2004 at the Center for Contemporary Arts.
