Description
  1. 117 p.; 25 cm.
Summary
  1. "Social scientists in New Zealand have long argued that the image of this country as a racial Utopia should be seen for what it is -- a myth. Despite publication of their views with supporting evidence from various sources, the public reaction seems to continue to be one of indifference or even disbelief. More recently, however, signs of gang activity operating on a racial basis and substantial clusterings of Polynesians in certain urban areas have prompted many to wonder how New Zealand was suddenly confronted with a "racial problem". This book was conceived initially as a means of providing students with comment, and with exposure to source materials in reference form, dealing with selected aspects of race relations in this country ..." -- Preface p. 7.
