Gran calavera eléctrica
[Ciudad de] México: Imprenta de Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, 1900
This 1900 broadside is apparently the original publication in which the illustration on it appeared. It features verses satirizing the inauguration of the modern electric trolley line that connected downtown Mexico City with the country’s largest cemetery. The image depicts the main entrance to Panteón de Dolores—Dolores Cemetery—the resting place of many famous Mexicans—including Posada, who was buried there in 1913 in an unmarked grave.
